A land of history and culture, the Hérault department is home to many castles, remnants of past eras. Which castles are must-sees during your stay at Camping l'Occitan (34)?
The Château de la Mogère
A symbol of the bourgeois society of Montpellier in the 18th century, the Château de la Mogère has belonged to the Vicomte de Saporta's family for nine generations.
Family portraits are displayed alongside furniture, paintings, and wall decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries in the mansion’s salons. The visit then continues outdoors, where the gardens harmoniously blend French and English landscaping styles.
Overall, the visit offers insight into the history of Montpellier and the Boussairolles family, a prominent local figure.
